                      File Folder Card

Here are instructions on how to make the file folder card. Enjoy! If  you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Basic Supplies List:
Envelope Punch Board
Paper trimmer
5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock
3 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Designer Series Paper/scrapbooking paper
2" x 5 1/2 piece of  Designer Series Paper/scrapbooking paper
Adhesive
Sticky Strip/Scor-Tape

Optional Supplies:
Stamps
Ribbon
Punches
Dies etc.
Piece of cardstock for inside

Start by cutting your card stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

Next, score the card stock  in half, by placing the longer side of the paper, on your scoreboard, and score at 4 1/4

Now, fold the paper in half.

Once you've folded it in half, take the carstsock back to the trimmer, and trim off 1".

Next, cut your designer paper to 3 1/4 x 5 1/2

Adhere it to the front of the cardstock where you cut the inch off.

Cut another piece of designer paper to 2" x 5 1/2 and adhere it to the inside of the folder at the top.

Once attached, it's now time to take out the Envelope Punchboard. Open the folder, and place the front of the folder on the punchboard, and line it up at the opening of the punch. Line it up right at the left side of the opening as show in the picture.

Push down to cut. Once, you've punched down, move the folder over to the 3" mark, and punch, again

This is what you end up with.

Now, you will round the corners of the card by using the other side of the Envelope Punchboard. Be sure not to round the left the side of the front of the folder.

Take out trimmer again, and place front side as shown in the picture

Place the blade in the middle of the cut (valley), and slide card up, until you feel the blade. Once you feel the blade, and card cannot go any further, trim down to the right. You will end up with this.

Once this has been done, and if you chose to add ribbon to the front of the card, this will be the time. Take a 7" piece of ribbon, a border, of anything else you wish to use to wrap around the card.

Now, take some Sticky Strip or Scor-Tape (need something strong to hold card together), and attach to the sides of the front of the cardstock in the inside.

Once tape is on, take of the lining, and close the card to seal.

Your file card is now done! I decorated mine in a Valentine's theme. I used Real Red Ink by Stampin' Up! and a stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes and a Valentine's stamp, I bought at Michel's. I stamped it on some scrap Whisper White Cardstock by Stampin' Up!

I used some Spellbinder's dies to cut out the Happy Valentine's Day stamp out, and used my Cuttlebug. I also used some punches by Stampin' Up! to use 'just for you' stamp on. I used the Window Punch, and the label punch for the red piece that goes in back of the 'just for you stamp. I also used some embellishments that I bought at Michaels.

I also added an insert for a note for the recipient. I forgot the measurements, but you can figure that out easily for the size you'd like. Here is the one I made.

And now stick it in the folder, and you end up with a beautiful file folder card.

I am so addicted to making these cards. Here are a few more I made!
